FAQs

Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions about Freedelity.
If you don't find what you are looking for, don't hesitate to contact us.

Why was I asked for my ID card?

The store where you have just made your purchases uses the solutions developed by Freedelity to collect and update your personal data but also to identify you during your purchases

If the staff of the shop where you are located has asked you for your ID card, it is simply to avoid having to manually fill out a paper registration form.

This saves time, avoids typing errors when collecting your personal data and makes it easier to update your data in case of moving.

This will enable your preferred merchants to offer you more personalized services in full compliance with the regulations relating to the processing of your personal data.

Is the use of my ID card legal?

Yes, the use of the ID card to collect personal data and consent to its use for marketing purposes is in accordance with the recommendations of the data protection authority.

Please note that you can also choose to manually complete a registration form or identify yourself for example:

  • By entering your first and last names and date of birth at each Freedelity partner store.
  • From the MyFreedelity application.
Who is responsible for the processing of my personal data?

Your personal data is processed either by the individual merchants to whom you have provided it or by Freedelity SA, depending on the type of personal data processing being done. The merchant using the solutions developed by Freedelity SA should have clearly communicated this information to you, for example by giving you a copy of this leaflet. If you provided your email address, you were also sent an email confirming this information.

The personal data processing carried out by Freedelity is described in detail in our Personal Data Protection Policy, which can be accessed here.

What is the Freedelity file?

The Freedelity file gathers the personal data of all consumers who have given their consent to Freedelity, in particular through the intermediary of companies using solutions designed by Freedelity and who have signed up to the pooling programme offered by Freedelity. The purpose of this data processing is to provide Freedelity customers with up-to-date information about themselves.

This data enables us to correctly identify you to our customers. Pooling this data makes it easier to keep it up to date with the various customer brands where you are registered.

These include, in particular, large-scale distribution companies with which you have subscribed to a loyalty programme, a dematerialised guarantee, or any other customer relations programme.

Your data is also used to generate and update your MyFreedelity profile.

Your registration generates the creation of a personal identifier and login on the MyFreedelity application, enabling the activation of your MyFreedelity profile. Thanks to this profile, you alone decide which businesses have the right to access your contact details in order to communicate with you (and by what means: email, SMS, post).

You can also terminate your relationship with any partner merchant. To facilitate your access, we encourage you to mention your email address when you register.

How can I view, correct or delete my personal data?

This is one of your rights guaranteed by the regulations on the protection of personal data. The MyFreedelity portal and application were designed with this in mind and to this end.

MyFreedelity is an application designed to dematerialise and collect a large part of the loyalty or identification cards you accumulate in your wallet in a secure space. It allows you to keep control over the use of your personal data with multiple retail companies. It also keeps them up to date regarding Freedelity's clients.

As soon as you register, a personal profile is therefore created in your name on the MyFreedelity portal in order to allow you to control your personal data usage.

Access to your personal data is protected and requires authentication. If you have shared your email address with one of Freedelity's partner businesses, you will only need the username and password that were automatically provided to you after registration.

If you have not yet shared your email address with Freedelity or one of Freedelity's merchant clients, then simply follow the access procedure described below.

Will my personal data be shared with third parties?

Your personal data is managed centrally by Freedelity via the Freedelity File. Our File was initially designed to provide your favorite merchants with up-to-date information about you. To make this possible, your consent was obtained when you first registered with one of the brands and/or businesses that use Freedelity's services.

As part of the management of the Freedelity File, your personal data is transferred to our Freedelity Clients, whether or not they participate in shared personal data management, in order to ensure and confirm its accuracy.

If you have specifically consented, your data may also be transmitted to Freedelity customers who do not participate in data sharing (customers with whom you have subscribed to a loyalty programme, dematerialisation of the guarantee, or any other customer relations programme via Freedelity), who will use this data to ensure its validation, quality, updating and accuracy in their own database or those of their customers. They may also process it for market research purposes.

These customers include

  • companies of any kind that have a service contract with Freedelity
  • companies specialising in analysing and processing Data for marketing purposes, verifying or improving the quality of Data or in market research.

Similarly, if you have previously authorised a brand to process and transfer your consumption data, purchases, product preferences and other interactions to Freedelity, and if you have specifically given your consent to Freedelity, your data may be used to create profiles that will help us and our advertising clients to provide you with personalised advertising and offers, not only on our media but also in media or networks in which you identify yourself by name (Facebook, Google, Instagram, mobile media applications, etc.). This is part of our audience extension strategy, aimed at offering you a more relevant and rewarding experience. This "targeting" is never individualised, but concerns people who, according to the requests and criteria of the advertiser concerned, can be addressed in a relevant way to a group of people with similar characteristics.

Finally, your pseudonymised personal data, i.e. modified so as not to allow you to be identified directly, may be used by Freedelity or its clients for market research purposes, such as defining the catchment areas of shopping centres, calculating indices representing the match between supply and demand, carrying out studies characterising living areas, etc. You may object to this processing if you do not wish your data to be used for these purposes.
